  • 25 yards of 3mm macrame cord
  • Scissors
  • 1-inch wooden ring
  • Plant pot

Step 1: Cut the cord

Step 2: Attach the cords to the wooden ring

Cut eight 3-yard pieces of macrame cord.

Step 3: Knot the cords

Fold each cord in half and attach it to the wooden ring using a lark's head knot. To do this, take the folded cord and place it under the ring. Then, take the two ends of the cord and pass them over the ring and through the loop created by the folded cord. Pull tight.

Step 4: Add another row of knots

Divide the cords into four groups of two cords each. Tie a square knot with each pair of cords. To do this, take the left cord over the right one and then bring it underneath the right cord and up through the loop. Then, take the right cord over the left one and bring it underneath the left cord and up through the loop. Repeat to create a second half knot. Tighten the knot.

Step 5: Create the basket

Take one cord from one group and knot it together with a cord from the adjacent group. Continue all the way around the plant hanger.

Step 6: Finish it off

Repeat the steps for the knots, making each row shorter than the previous one, until you've created a basket for your plant pot.

Step 7: Add your plant

Tie a knot at the bottom of the basket to secure the cords. You can also add beads, ribbons, or other decorations to personalize your plant hanger.
